Bhavish Aggarwal, CEO of Ola, is of the opinion that India has the capacity to become the global center for artificial intelligence. The CEO of Ola talked to ANI about the power of AI, how it can change India’s global position, and how it affects the job market. He stated, “There are tens of millions of young people and professionals in IT services in India.” They are currently working on projects for global clients. Their work may yield ten times more results. That means avoiding one-tenth of a percent jobs. That means we can create ten times as many jobs in India.

He claims that since a lot of routine tasks would be automated, AI offers opportunities to boost productivity. He explained, “To quantify is difficult, but I would say AI will create new jobs and AI will take away jobs also.” As a result, it is bound to replace several job roles. He went on to say that, over the next five years, AI will have the most of an impact on white-collar jobs, but not many on blue-collar jobs. This is due to the fact that robots are currently not equipped with AI to perform physical tasks.

He stated, “Some jobs will be eliminated, and productivity will increase.” In this way, the manner in which I think about it, in an extremely straightforward sense, computer based intelligence will make a lot of new sorts of positions from here on out. We, as a nation and as an ecosystem, must construct half of those jobs in India. Therefore, we must, and we can only do so by embracing AI. If we lead the way in adopting AI, our economy will grow more quickly and we will create future AI jobs in India for the entire world.”

Especially noteworthy is Aggarwal’s creation of the AI model Krutrim. The company claims that it is capable of producing texts with a “sense of Indian cultural sensibilities and relevance.” It has been made available in a Beta version since February 2024 and has been translated into 22 languages.
