According to the official National News Agency, an Israeli attack on a residence in southern Lebanon resulted in the death of five individuals, including four members of one family, and the injury of nine others on Saturday.
The Iran-backed Hezbollah group in Lebanon and Israel have been exchanging deadly fire along the border almost every day since the start of the war in October. The Gaza militant group Hamas, which is an ally of Hezbollah, is also involved in the conflict.
According to the NNA, a family of four, consisting of a couple, their two children, and one other person, was killed in an attack on a house located in the Khirbet Selm area. The NNA also reported that the mother, who was pregnant, was among the victims.
According to the report, the residence was destroyed by the strike, causing injuries to at least nine individuals residing in the vicinity.
As reported by AFP, the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict that began in October has resulted in the death of 312 individuals in Lebanon, with the majority being Hezbollah fighters and 56 being civilians.
There is a focus on clashes occurring primarily in border areas, however concerns have arisen regarding the possibility of a wider conflict in Lebanon.
On the previous Tuesday, an Israeli attack on a residence in the southern border town of Hula resulted in the deaths of a family from Lebanon – a husband, wife, and their child.
The death toll in Israel includes 10 soldiers and seven civilians.
According to Israeli figures compiled by AFP, the conflict in Gaza sparked by the Hamas assault on southern Israel claimed the lives of approximately 1,160 individuals, predominantly innocent civilians.
According to the health ministry of the Hamas-ruled territory, 30,960 individuals, predominantly women and children, have been killed by Israel in their retaliatory efforts to eliminate Hamas in Gaza.
