Eighty-four players will be up for grabs on the first day of the IPL mega auction. The rules for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 mega auction were established by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Sunday morning. All ten franchises have received a comprehensive schedule outlining the events that will take place during the two days in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. 84 players will be put up for auction on the first day, which is scheduled to start on Sunday at 3:30 PM IST. The first 12 sets will be covered on the first day of the auction, and the remaining sets will be handled on Monday.

The first 12 sets will be covered on the first day of the auction, and the remaining sets will be handled on Monday. One rule also addresses the amount of a higher bid when a franchise exercises its right-to-match card, according to Cricbuzz. A pertinent advisory on the BCCI note states, “Raising of RTM bid can be any amount — doesn’t have to be a rounded figure,” according to the report. Together, the ten franchises have 14 RTM cards up for grabs at the IPL 2025 mega auction. The first two Marquee Sets will go up for bid at the auction. There are two groups of six players each in the Marquee Lists.

Mitchell Starc, Arshdeep Singh, Kagiso Rabada, Rishabh Pant, Jos Buttler, and Shreyas Iyer make up the first group. The Marquee Set 2 includes Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Liam Livingstone, David Miller, KL Rahul, and Yuzvendra Chahal. On the first day of the auction, there will be a lunch break after the marquee sets are finished. After that, how will the auction go? Following lunch, there will be a bidding war among the capped batters before the all-rounders and wicketkeepers are involved. After everything is finished, there will be another 15-minute break. Capped bowlers will then be subjected to the hammer. The first uncapped players set will be in the last set of Day 1.

Monday, the second day of the proceedings, on stage. All of the remaining players in the auction pool will be recovered on the second day. After Player No.116, the accelerated auction will begin. For the fast-tracking phase, franchises will be required to submit a list of 25 players.
