Rahul Gandhi, the Congress leader (PTI), said, “It is shocking and saddening to learn of Baba Siddique ji’s tragic demise.” Rahul Gandhi tweeted, “My thoughts are with his family during this difficult time,” on X (previously Twitter. “This horrific event reveals Maharashtra’s total breakdown of law and order.
The Congress leader went on, “Justice must be served, and the government must accept responsibility.” Around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, in Kher Nagar, Mumbai, three guys ambushed and shot Baba Siddique outside his son’s workplace. After being brought to Lilavati Hospital, he was pronounced deceased. Baba Siddique was a well-known Muslim politician from Mumbai who was also well-known for being connected to a number of Bollywood actors, including Sanjay Dutt and Shah Rukh Khan. According to the police, two suspects from Uttar Pradesh and Haryana have been taken into custody, and the third suspect has fled. Following the danger on his life, Baba Siddique had his security increased to the Y category. According to the Mumbai Police, one of the attackers is still at large while the other two have been taken into custody. Opposition politicians questioned how the government would safeguard the general public if they couldn’t protect a political leader with a “Y” category security cover, and they sought the resignation of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and his deputies, Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar.
The Maharashtra people suffered a “massive loss” upon Baba Siddique’s passing, according to the Congress. “The state of law and order in Maharashtra is seriously being called into question by this tragedy. Siddique ji suffered even though he was under Y plus security since he had repeatedly alerted the authorities to threats against his life.
