During arguably the most prestigious Grand Slam event on the international tennis calendar, Wimbledon, the Royal Box on the center court is always one of the main attractions. This year’s event also featured a number of famous athletes from around the world. Celebrities are traditionally greeted in the Royal Box and given individual introductions to the audience. Sachin Tendulkar, the Indian legend of cricket, and Jos Buttler, Ben Stokes, and Joe Root, the English gentleman’s game’s greatest players, were among those in attendance on Saturday. Each received a standing ovation from the crowd.
Tendulkar, Guardiola, Olympians, and other sporting stars were welcomed into the royal box at Wimbledon 2024. Other sporting royalty present included three-time Olympic gold medal-winning swimmer Adam Peaty, Olympic gold medal-winning heptathlete Jessica Ennis-Hill, and Premier League champion Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola.
