When our life feels chaotic, we try to remind ourselves what truly matters in life. Friends, family, a comfortable space to live in and doing our best to make ourselves feel better. Here are 6 self-care tips to help you in your hectic times.

Make your bedroom cozy:

Getting rid of clutter helps in making you feel calm. From making your bed in the morning, keeping the area organised and getting rid of unnecessary things will make you feel lighter and overall less anxious.

Cleansing & Moisturising:

A simple routine of cleansing and moisturising your face will help you feel refreshed instantly. It helps removing impurities and pollutants from your skin after a long hectic day and replenishes your skin’s moisture and hydration needs.

Balasana:

Balasana is a resting pose that gently relaxes your muscles and has benefits of relieving stress. It stretches the hips, thighs, lower back, ankles and knees. Helping in calming mind, body and reducing fatigue.

Unplug from the world:

Taking small breaks from your emails, those group messages and calls. Giving yourself few minutes of silence can help you clear your mind and unwind. According to the American Heart Association, a healthy amount of quiet time can also help with heart health.

Watch a movie:

In my opinion, or rather personal experience. I find movies bring us a sense of relief. Movies help us release emotions and can help the person feel more lighter. Watching a suspenseful film release cortisol in the brain, followed by dopamine.

Look forward for something:

Having something simple like ordering in your favourite meal for dinner, or that girls brunch or coffee date and that dinner date with your loved one. No matter what is it put together your outfit. The excitement of having something planned is a way to keep your spirits high.

Taking care of your mental health in these stressful times is very crucial and its important that you set aside more me-time.
